Betaine, Anhydrous is an organic compound that occurs in plants. It is used as a moisturizer and stabilizer in skin care formulations and increases the water solubility of active compounds. In surfactant solutions, betaine acts as a foam modifier and increases the foam volume and stability and improves the after-feel of conditioners. Betaine is also a useful ingredient in dental products, thanks to its capability of reducing the irritancy of surfactants and for its moisturizing effects on mucous membranes. Ungraded products supplied by TCI America are generally suitable for common industrial uses or for research purposes but typically are not suitable for human consumption or therapeutic use.
